Over the past decade, Justin Marshall has created a successful career that encompasses his two great life passions, writing and education--and as an essay coach for Forster-Thomas, he combined these two passions seamlessly. Justin is the author of the book "How To Write An Essay," which was published in 2006 for SparkNotes' Ultimate Style series and is currently in its second edition, having sold over 10,000 copies. His work has also been featured in various publications including The Huffington Post and the Minneapolis City Pages. He is also Managing Editor of Firstwivesworld.com, an online resource for divorced and divorcing women.

Justin is also an active, award-winning screenwriter who received an MFA in Film from Columbia University. He brings his passion for storytelling and character to the work he does at Forster-Thomas, believing that every applicant has a unique and compelling story to tell through his or her essays.

As an educator, Justin began teaching over a decade ago in a rural junior high school in Japan. Since then he has taught Film at Columbia University, and served as an adjunct instructor for four years at The Katharine Gibbs School in New York City, where he taught Screenwriting, Cinematography, Editing, and Film History. An avid photographer and cinematographer, Justin has shot numerous films and videos that have played at festivals around the world, two of which were named Finalists for the Student Academy Awards in 2004 and 2005.
