Stephen F. Milioti is a
freelance editor and writer based in New York City. He has held a variety of
editorial positions, most recently as deputy editor of Fashion Wire Daily, a
fashion/lifestyle/arts daily newswire distributing articles through the
Associated Press, Yahoo!, and news outlets both nationally and internationally.
Tired of having to wear nice shoes to work every day, Stephen turned to the
freelance life and has since worked on a range of projects: He’s written feature
stories, essays, and cultural criticism for publications including New York
Magazine, The New York Observer, Time Out New York, Salon, Publishers Weekly,
USA Today, and the Boston Globe. In addition, he has worked on
freelance editing projects at Time Inc. and Condé Nast Publications—and, most
recently, at EssaySolutions. Stephen enjoys his work on application essays, he
says, because everyone’s got a great story to tell, and MBA applications are a
prime (and demanding) venue for bringing those stories to the surface. Milioti
has a BA in journalism from New York University, an MFA in writing (non-fiction)
from The New School, and an MA in American Studies from Columbia University.
